Grower and finisher buildings are where the work started in the previous stages is completed. A fast start post weaning determines the pace achievable in the finishing house. Ever changing conditions and requirements, successfully ask much of building and production technology embedded in these industry leading structures.

Sow & Service Accommodation.
Creating a first class, comfortable and energy-efficient environment for your breeding animals is as vital as it is in the design and construction of production accommodation.
We have a long history of building for major breeding companies. The experience of meeting their very exacting requirements has focused our expertise on creating a wide and economic range of solutions for the housing of breeding animals. The range of sow and boar accommodation provides exactly that.
From straw-based dump feed units to fully slatted buildings, using Van Hessche slats, with both wet and dry feeding systems and employing highly efficient lighting and ventilation technology. All within our unique bonded, insulated panel building shell.
A.I. facilities, both collection and service can be incorporated where required.

Farrowing Accommodation.
Whilst still currently allowed, the industry is well aware that the long term future of the fixed farrowing crate is in doubt. The alternatives being considered allows for both crate-less farrowing, with the option of temporary restraint of the sow over the farrowing and immediate post farrowing periods. These options, we believe, will represent the best interests of the sow, her piglets and operatives, equally.
No time scale is yet in place for any changes. Nevertheless our involvement with negotiations between DEFRA and Industry means we are in a position to discuss the latest developments and alternatives with our customers.
Our recommended alternative to fixed crates is the AM Warkup Adaptive Farrowing.

Nursery & Finishing Accommodation.
With the recent significant increase in numbers weaned per sow, extra pressure is inevitably placed on weaning accommodation.
One way to combat this pressure is by moving the pigs into the finisher house sooner. Combining a fully insulated building shell with the flexibility of the Skov ventilation system, the Warkup finisher building can easily accommodate pigs from 25 kgs onwards. In addition, an upper finished weight limit of 145 kgs means that the potential advantages to both producer and processor of the heavier carcase become available now or when contracts allow.
This flexibility, combined with Crystal Spring feeders, easily cleaned surfaces which are automatically soaked at end of batch, combined with optional cooling and heating to combat increasingly challenging climatic conditions, make the Warkup Flexible Finisher an industry leader.
